YOUR JOURNEY, DAY BY DAY

Picture Your Days in the Mara

Imagine five days and four nights in the Mara, with time to explore and settle into the rhythm of the wild. This example itinerary is a starting point: we’ll adapt the duration, travel arrangements and daily activities around your dates, interests and budget.

Day 1 — Arrive and Settle In

Your journey begins with travel from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara, by road or light aircraft as agreed in your proposal. Settle into your selected camp or lodge and take in your surroundings. Depending on your arrival time, there may be time for a first game drive before dinner and your first night in the Mara.

Day 2 — Follow the Wildlife

Head out with your guide to explore the Mara’s open plains, following wildlife activity and taking time with the sightings you encounter. Your private vehicle gives you room to enjoy the day at your own pace. Depending on the agreed itinerary, return to camp between drives or spend longer exploring with a packed lunch.

Day 3 — Explore at Your Own Pace

Spend another day discovering the Mara with your guide, with time for photography, patient wildlife watching and the unexpected moments that make each drive different. Between outings, enjoy a quieter spell at camp. We’ll plan the balance of exploration and rest around your interests, within the activities and access agreed in your itinerary.

Day 4 — Make Room for Your Interests

Enjoy another day of private game drives, shaped around the wildlife and places that have captured your interest. If you would like a different perspective, we can discuss optional experiences such as a balloon safari or a thoughtfully arranged community visit during planning. Availability, additional costs and any location restrictions will be confirmed in your proposal.

Day 5 — Your Onward Journey

Enjoy your final morning in the Mara before departing at the time agreed in your itinerary. Depending on your travel arrangements, there may be time for a last game drive or a relaxed breakfast at camp. Continue to Nairobi or your next destination, with transfers and any onward arrangements confirmed in your proposal.

THE PRIVATE SAFARI EXPERIENCE

What Makes This Journey Yours

A private safari gives you space to experience the Mara in a way that feels personal. With your own guide and vehicle, there is time to linger at a sighting, follow your curiosity and balance days of exploration with quieter moments at camp.

Time with the Wildlife

Stay a little longer with a sighting that captures your attention. Your guide helps you observe animal behaviour and notice the smaller details, with the freedom of a private vehicle and respect for wildlife and park rules.

Space for Photography

Enjoy time to compose a photograph, watch the light change and capture the landscapes as well as the wildlife. Tell us about your photography interests during planning so we can discuss suitable drive timings and vehicle arrangements.

Room to Slow Down

Leave time to enjoy where you’re staying, share a quiet meal and take in the landscape between drives. We’ll shape the balance of activity and rest around you, so your safari feels like a journey to savour.

WHERE YOU’LL STAY

Stay Close to the Wild

Where you stay is part of the safari experience. We’ll recommend camps and lodges around your preferred comfort, setting and budget — from intimate tented stays to more spacious lodges. Your proposal will identify the property, room type and meal arrangements, so you know what to expect before booking.

A Stay That Suits You

Tell us what matters most — a tented camp atmosphere, extra room for family, a peaceful setting or a little more comfort. We’ll explain the accommodation options that fit your dates and budget, including room facilities and the experience you can expect at each property.

The Setting Shapes the Experience

A property’s location influences where you explore and how much time you spend travelling between camp and wildlife areas. We’ll explain the differences between reserve and conservancy stays, including access and available activities, so you can choose the setting that suits your journey.

Know What’s Included

Your proposal will clearly explain meals, drinks, activities and any additional charges at your selected property. Your game-drive vehicle is private to your travelling party; camp facilities and some property activities may be shared unless exclusive arrangements are specifically confirmed.

PLANNING AROUND YOUR BUDGET

Your Budget, Thoughtfully Considered

Share your estimated safari budget per person in USD, excluding international flights, and tell us what matters most to you. We’ll explore suitable options for your dates and explain the choices clearly. Your personalised proposal will show the itinerary, total price, inclusions and exclusions before you decide to book.

What Shapes Your Safari Price

  • Travel dates and seasonal accommodation rates
  • Number of nights and choice of camp or lodge
  • Number of guests and room arrangements
  • Travel by road or light aircraft, and reserve or conservancy access
  • Optional experiences, such as a balloon safari

Not sure what budget to set? Tell us your preferred dates, number of guests and the experience you’re looking for. We’ll help you understand the options and explain any adjustments needed to bring your plans and budget together.

BEFORE YOUR JOURNEY

Questions Before You Travel

Can I change the duration or itinerary?

Yes. The five-day itinerary is an example, and we can discuss a shorter or longer stay, different travel arrangements and activities that suit your interests. Changes depend on availability and budget, and your final proposal will confirm the agreed itinerary.

How do I get to the Maasai Mara?

We can discuss travel from Nairobi by road or light aircraft, depending on your itinerary, budget and chosen accommodation. Your proposal will specify the route, transfers and any domestic flights included. Share your international arrival and departure plans so we can help coordinate the journey.

Is this safari suitable for children?

We can discuss a family safari shaped around your children’s ages and your preferred pace. Share their ages when enquiring so we can check suitable accommodation, room arrangements and activity restrictions. Any child rates and property age requirements will be confirmed in your proposal.

Is a balloon safari included?

A balloon safari is an optional experience unless your proposal specifically includes it. Tell us during planning if you’re interested, and we’ll check availability, cost and suitability. Flights are subject to weather and the balloon operator’s conditions.

When should I visit the Maasai Mara?

The right time depends on what you hope to experience, your available dates and your budget. Tell us whether wildlife, photography, greener landscapes or migration viewing matters most, and we’ll discuss suitable options. Wildlife sightings and river crossings cannot be guaranteed.

How do I confirm my booking?

After you approve your proposal, we’ll explain the payment schedule, booking conditions and steps needed to secure your arrangements. Your booking is confirmed when we issue written confirmation. Sending an enquiry does not reserve accommodation or confirm a safari.
